Lubrication: Polyurethane elastomer seals the entire installation process, depending on the application of grease to reduce damage and seizing. In general, a thin lubricant film is essential for installing O-rings, and since urethane seals are used in extreme loads, the grease can improve the resistance of hydraulic seals to thermal carbon cracking.

In most cases, the use of sealed substances as grease, fluorinated oil, such as powdered high-purity graphite can also be used for grease. Even if grease is applied, care should be taken throughout the installation of hydraulic seals to minimize damage to the O-ring.

Tensile: The elongation at break of most polyurethane seals is 120%~170%. When installing the O-ring, be sure to pay attention to the elongation statistic to avoid breaking the O-ring by exceeding the elongation at break.

Generally speaking, the tension level of installing the O-ring should be within 50% of the elongation at break. If it is impossible to install, first place the O-ring in boiling water to soften it. The installation method can prevent the damage of hydraulic seals.
