The most prominent characteristic of PCTFE is its extreme low-temperature resistance. It can operate stably for a long time in a wide temperature range from -196°C to 130°C. Even in cryogenic environments such as liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen, it maintains excellent toughness and sealing performance without cracking or deformation. Compared with conventional PTFE, PCTFE offers stronger resistance to cold flow and creep, less relaxation under long-term compression, and significantly improved sealing reliability.

Its barrier performance is industry-leading. With tightly arranged molecular chains and high crystallinity, PCTFE has a much lower permeability coefficient for helium, hydrogen, nitrogen and other gases than conventional fluoroplastics, with near-zero water vapor transmission rate, effectively preventing micro-leakage. It serves as a critical barrier to ensure medium purity and avoid contamination in semiconductor vacuum systems, high-purity gas delivery, and high-end pharmaceutical packaging.

PCTFE excels in both chemical resistance and dimensional stability. It withstands most corrosive media including strong acids, strong alkalis, halogens, and organic solvents—except molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine—without swelling or aging after long-term immersion. Meanwhile, it features high mechanical strength and good rigidity, with machining precision up to ±0.008 mm, extremely low coefficient of linear expansion, and a deformation rate of ≤0.04% under alternating high and low temperatures, meeting the long-term reliability requirements of precision components.
