Hydraulic breakers operate under harsh working conditions including high-frequency reciprocating impact, instantaneous high pressure, sediment dust and fluctuating oil temperature. If the seal kit uses random mismatched materials, problems such as lip tearing, extrusion damage of sealing elements, internal and external leakage, and emulsified hydraulic oil will easily occur. This leads to reduced impact force and frequent downtime for maintenance. The key to a high-quality breaker repair kit is targeted material selection for each component to achieve elasticity and wear resistance against impact, fundamentally eliminating oil leakage.
This complete set of seals for excavator breakers includes piston glyd rings, main oil seals, buffer seals, dust seals and O-rings for valves. All parts are supplied as a complete kit without the need for separate purchasing.
1,Main Piston Seals
For heavy-duty quarry operation under continuous high temperature: PTFE piston seal combined with an O-ring. The PTFE sliding ring features an ultra-low friction coefficient and will not scratch the cylinder wall. The elastic O-ring keeps continuous preload on the sliding ring. Even after long-term impact and wear, it remains tightly attached to the sealing surface to prevent intermittent leakage.
2,Rod Oil Seals & Dust Seals
Dust seals are made of wear-resistant polyurethane. The rigid lip scrapes off gravel and sediment, preventing contaminants from damaging the oil seal lip.
For continuous high-temperature breaking work, FKM oil seals are recommended. They can withstand oil temperatures above 150°C without aging or shrinkage over long service periods.
3,Buffer Rings, Back-up Rings and O-rings
The pressure buffer ring is made of glass-fiber filled POM, which eases peak impact pressure and protects the main seal from high-pressure breakdown.
PTFE wear-resistant back-up rings block assembly clearances and stop rubber seals from being extruded into gaps and damaged.
No inferior mixed rubber is used for O-rings. Premium NBR is standard for normal temperature conditions; HNBR with excellent oil resistance and anti-ageing properties is adopted for continuous high-temperature operation to maintain stable sealing elasticity with no slow seepage or micro-leakage.
Most oil leakage failures on breakers stem from improper material selection. Following the design principle: wear and extrusion resistance for main seals, vibration and temperature resistance for rod oil seals, dust interception by dust seals, and pressure buffering by back-up rings. With a composite material combination of PU, HNBR and PTFE for different positions, the full seal kit can withstand sustained high-frequency impact and maintain consistent sealing contact. It ensures stable pressure retention with zero internal and external leakage, keeps the breaker delivering consistent striking power and cuts downtime losses.
