1. Performance and use
It is suitable for sealing medium and high pressure oil cylinders, and it is installed behind the seal (U-shaped seal) to prevent the seal from being squeezed out. The pressure-bearing capacity of seals with retaining rings is generally 10-30MPa larger than that of seals without retaining rings, and the performance-to-structure ratio and performance-to-cost ratio are high, and they have been widely used.
Medium adaptability and working condition adaptability can be met by selecting suitable materials, so it can be used in various working conditions.
According to whether it is open or not, it can be divided into open retaining ring and non-open retaining ring. If the installation of the non-open retaining ring is particularly difficult or even impossible to install, the open retaining ring is used, otherwise try to use the non-open retaining ring.
Filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyamide, polyoxymethylene, polyurethane, rubber, etc. are commonly used materials for retaining rings, and are selected according to actual working conditions.
Generally, U-shaped rings are made of filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), filled polyamide or polyoxymethylene as retaining rings.
3. Labeling method
It is marked with the installation size, for the sub-hole seal and the shaft seal.
Marking of retaining ring for hole sealing: "BRT" outer diameter × inner diameter × thickness
For example: "BRT80×70×2.5" means "hole seal retaining ring, outer diameter is 80, inner diameter is 70, thickness 2.5"
Marking of retaining ring for shaft seal: "BRT" inner diameter x outer diameter x thickness
For example: "BRT220×224×2" means "shaft seal retaining ring, the outer diameter is 224. The inner diameter is 220, and the thickness is 2.0"
Ⅰ. When the sealing pressure is greater than 10MPa, or when the extrusion gap e is greater than 0.1mm, it is recommended to install a retaining ring. The thickness of the retaining ring is generally 2.5-5mm, which is determined according to the size of the seal and the bearing pressure value.
Ⅱ. The hardness of the retaining ring must be appropriate, harder than the seal it protects, and not too hard. The hardness of the retaining ring is 2 to 3 times that of the U-shaped sealing material, and the hardness of the retaining ring is similar.
Ⅲ, The clearance of the retaining ring should be as small as possible without hindering the installation, and the hole seal guarantees tolerance 1. As shown in the above figure, there should be no gap between the retaining ring and the upper mounting part; similarly, the shaft seal guarantees tolerance 2.
