Flat and flexible washers need to work within a huge range of operating temperatures that vary depending on the environment in which they are used.
Although some materials have a wide temperature range, we can narrow the range of specific materials for different temperature environments.

Many solid rubber will work at temperatures up to 120c.
The silicone and viton rubber can be used up to 300c.

The gasket must comply with the specification when the whole unit must be tested.
If the product you produce must comply with certain legislation, the test requirements will be prescribed in accordance with the consumer/manufacturing law in a specific country.
The most common scenario is that this will be UL rating if sales are expected in the US.
Many European and American products sold by consumers will be required to comply with certain safety tests.

Thermal aging of rubber is a pioneer in many rubber tests, and ASTM D573, astm d 1056, UL50, UL48, UL508 and UL 157 all have thermal aging requirements.
UL94-the main flammable test for rubber materials is UL94.
If you are producing consumer goods, residential and commercial products, UL94 is the test grade required.
